VideoGames kill by dandude666 VideoGames kill by dandude666
VideoGames Kill, People Does Not.
It's not a social problem, it's not about the fact that nobody cares about the youth, that would be a shame. Nop, it's all about VideoGames, Music and Movies...

2009 EDIT: Ok, I've posted this over 2 years ago, and I had my share of people calling me an idiot because THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE MY STATEMENT IS IN FACT SARCASM.
So, I just wanted to point that out. It's sarcasm.

2011 edit: Since this was posted, screen resolutions have known a great increase. To keep up with my time, I have decided to upload a bigger file, so it is more adapted to current screen resolutions.

Model: Justine
Photographer: Myself

Really early Work..one of the first pic I took with my 300D. I just post-produced it though.

Hello, I have posted a little disclaimer way back.
It is in fact sarcasm.
I always thought I made it clear by using a duck hunt gun, but this piece have been misinterpreted many times.

I do NOT believe videogames make people violent as I do NOT believe music make people violent.

I think people who are violent to begin with are drawn to certain type of games and music, which is very different.

Your an idiot. Video Games are benefiting society. There is NO clinical evidence that Video Games cause youth to become violent. In fact the majority of Gamers (80%) are over the age of 20.

Ahaha, I'm getting used to those kind of comment. I'm 700% on you side, don't worry.
Sense the tone, it's sarcasm.. I think I'll write it in the comments, I've had enough people insulting me for exposing exactly their opinion in a sarcastic way.

You see, what pisses me off about it, it's hearing people saying that the kid killed people because he was playing GTA, watching violent or listening to hardcore music or some shit while no fuckin' one seems to wonder how his mental health was, if his parents were taking care of him well, if the kid was secluded and isolated in school, if the educationnal system gave him enough supports. Politicians just want to put the blame on easy targets so they can be reelected.

It's never really about what happened, neither about what you can prove, it's all about what you can make people believe happened.

PS: Sorry if my english isn't top notch, it's not my first language.

well, that's different, that's a psychological addiction mixed with psychological dependency, and it's probably best that he killed himself.

I'd have a lot of fun talking to his parents. They're probably just as fucked up as he was.

Ah. I see. Yeah. In the case you're talking about the kid WAS mentally insane. And Jack Thompson thought he could blame video games. And he got millions of parents to burn their childrens games in front of them.

I'm glad that you're not one of those people. Deviant Art needs less idiots as it is.

I had one, & for some reason the cheap veneered TV I had would not work with it. However, if I pointed the gun at a mirror, or window it worked....don't ask me how I know that I know that, but I do.

Ahaha, well, this is weird. Maybe your TV had some sort of electro-magnetic field that didn't allow the frequencies from the gun to reach destination or maybe, maybe it wasn't a TV, maybe it was a microwave, or a washing machine, or maybe it was yourself, oh my god, we're living in the matrix, it's all a big lie, we're batteries for huge robots who control the world!

But seriously, thank you for commenting, I love those vintage Nintendo stuff, they make great accessories for shootings. Sorry for the uber long and useless message, I guess I'm just in a really good mood. Have a awesome day.

Sorry but I completely disagree with this concept. Yes, video games are becoming more violent, and not all music is necessarily helpful. However, it really aggrivates me when people go on about "bad influences". For example, Columbine - who was blamed? The obvious target, Marilyn Manson, and of course, video games were mentioned a few times as well. But what about parents? What about society?

Really, it's all about the way the veiwer interprets the music/game/movie. If someone chooses to take a video game the wrong way, it is not the fault of the artist.

Sorry about the rant, but this really annoys me...

:) I like sarcasm. Alot of people seems to have misunderstood the statment behind this. I think it's kinda funny actually. It would be like ppl bitching about the movie "Thank You for Smoking" saying it encourages kids to smoke :)
Well, thank you for commenting, it's always appreciated.

video games do not kill people you are just trying to blam problems onto the media first of all a person who is intent is to kill someone it doesnt mater if they have or have not played video games but you are right about some games which provoc the ideals of some people and also you are right about parents responsibilities it not the medias fault though it the parents inability to teach their children the difference between right and wrong.
but i like the pic though

Hello. The text has been REALLY missunderstood over the time, which I like, it makes people write me stuff instead of just faving or just saying "I like it." The comment is all about sarcasm.
I actually wrote a couple of Rant about the deresponsabilisation of our society. Nothing's our fault, everything is blame on something else.
We live in a sick sick society, where the youth is left alone, where parents relay on school to teach everything to their kid, where people hearts are filled with a bitterness cold that freezes the soul.. but yet, we do not blame sociaty for that, we blame video games, movies and shit like that. i think you're right. What actually wrote, was what you wrote, but in a sarcastic way.
I'm happy you like the pic. I'm happier we shared.. even happier to know that I'm not the only one to realise how stupid it is to blame social issues on video games :)

I love this. Number one, cause I loved duck-hunter or whatever it was back in the day on old school nintedo, number two, because my sisters name is Justine and it's really not common and number three the concept is brilliant. Not going to comment on the concepts though... Focus is really good, you've shown the weapon quite clearly and still managed to reveal a decent expression on the character. Only crit I think would be the image quality itself, seems to pixel out a bit in the guns clarity. Other than that, fantastic :)

Hey, thank you for your awesome comment. I loooooooove long comments that actually mean something.
Let's start with the critique: Yup, you're right, a bit pixelled out.. My camera sucks and it's a really early picture and i didn't knew then that the 300D is noisy even at iso 400.. damn Digic I captor.
And for the kind comments, thank you so much.. and i never really liked this name 'fore I knew her, she's FANTASTIC.
And why won't you comment on the concept?

Ahaha alot of people seems to have misunderstood the small text that I wrote.
It was actually all about sarcasm.. We now live in a society where we relieve everyone of their responsability. Parents bitch about their kids not haviong enough sex courses in school and shit while it's their damn job to educate their kid. We live in a society where we're less and less responsible of our acts. We release pedophiles under lame excuses like they're sick and shit. Society teach us to say that if a 19y'o old kids shoot people, it's because he played GTA too much. Society is then relieved from the responsability of taking care of the people who constitute it.
You see my friend, when a kid spend his whole time playing video games and then shoot people, what's to blame, in my opinion, isn't video game but a society who has forget to take care of their youth, a society where differences also mean being rejected, threated like a piece of shit.
In brief, that was a statement about a society which prefers blaming music, movies and video game for its own failure.
Hope you understand me better :)
And sorry for the poor english.
